below are a number of images of a few of the things we have made over the past number of weeks directly below are images of the production of a number of craters we designed and made to be used in the exterior set , being a WW1 stylised jabberwocky reimaganing means that in the extior set there would be many craters from bombs ect , these were made by first creating the designs out of plastercine (or newplast) and then to drill holes through the desing and after which you would vac-form them , this is when your heat a sheet of plastic with the item you desire vac-formed between the heated sheet and a vacuum( not like one you would use at home obviously but a specific one designed for the job ) then due to the heat of the lastic it becomes maluable , and when the vacum is turned on you lift the wanted shaped towards the heated plastic and due to the holes through the desing the plastic is sucked tightly around your design taking its shape , after these images as it only takes it to the stage where the vacformed craters have been cut out they need to be gunked ( texture painted ) and then base coated etc.
Below are some images of trees made for the exterior set , made from wire , the idea behind this being in a WW1 stylised set barbwire is common among the exterior etc , but I'm not so sure about this as an idea for the set i much prefer the idea of trees and such cut out of MDF on the laser cutter , the designs for which are up on the walls besides these wire trees , another idea for some of the closer trees other than this is to make them and cover them in clay ( newplast) which i think is a much better idea
The two images below are basic shaped made from a sculpting material which when cooked in an oven becomes hardened not to dissimilar from from fimo in some respects but I found it to be far more malleable and easy to work with. these intertwined designs are hopefully , eventually to be used to represent the insides of a dead soldier in a respect with some other elements that i don't have images of , to be the ribcage, they still need to be cooked and painted
The images below are that of the first draft, ruff cutouts and arrangement of both sets for the jabberwocky animation , these are made to get a first impression of what the sets may look like , these are made from basic materials these of which are cardboard , and made to half the scale of which the final set will eventually be made.
