painting painting , dry painting and PVA glue

so over the past couple of weeks there has been a much greater pace of work in terms of the output for the jabberwocky animation and today has been no exception there has been a number of developments in production and general idea generation for the production and animation of the animation in question , firstly the ideas that have been considered is due to the style in which we are working that it would be interesting to do part of the animation in silhouettes , which i believe to be a brilliant idea , mainly due to the fact that aesthetically i think it could possibly look brilliant that and the fact that it would be relatively easy to produce. apart from this we are still waiting on the time slot that i have booked for the laser cutter this friday , which will further increase our productivity of this week , let alone what we are able to do tomorrow.

and now moving on to the descriptions and explanations of the pictures featured below , firstly a large majority of this , unsurprisingly are to do with the aesthetic aspect of the project , adjusting pieces of the set that have already been made . this is mainly dry painting , which adds an additional something to everything you do it to , a tad more realistic perhaps , but if not still adds bonus points to the atheistic of the set over all , the list of things we did this to are

dry painted for added effect:

- tank traps dry painted with pewter paint
- interior trenches dry painted with different shades of brown , giving it a mudding/rust colour
- the wooden slats that will comprise the majority of the floor dry painted with different shades of brown ( we seem to be working in the Hue of "Umber"

also if it is unknown the simple definition of dry painting is were you get rid of most of the paint from the brush before you paint what ever your painting so it only catches what your painting partially

as i said prior to this there wasn't only dry painting going on i also go to use the spray paint again , which is a whole bunch of fun , and its all good as proper ventilation was used so i didn't pass out or anything , this was again base coating things with black this time its was the squiggly squiggly  that i have previously described the reason for their existence and what part they will play in our animation.

also another hello to my previously made newplast covered tree which is to be used in the exteior set , this needed to be painted but due to the fact that its made of newplast we weren't sure how it would react so , i did a little test as you can see in an imagine below i spray painted a scrap peice of newplast ....the results werent great so i decided that i would put a under coat of PVA glue over the newplast tree , this should help the paint stick to the tree a bit more if you don't mind the pun , i left this to dry and shall spray paint it on my return to the studio tomorrow morning.

and the last thing that went on this most of productive days was the creation of another newplast tree this time a larger scale part of the tree that would be used for some of the close up/larger shots with the scaled up versions of the armatures ...in particular when the young soldier has a fag against the tree if I'm remembering it correctly . somewhat similar to the wire trees coerved in newplast , a general base was created to get the general shape that would be produced and then it was finished off/ defined using new plast , but after this will no doubt have to have a base coat ect putt on it , unless we use it to create a resin copy , or vac-form it or any number of possibilities.

ROB MADE A LADDER!!!

PEACE OUT!!....
